The character of formation and manifestation of winter hardiness in hybrids and varieties of winter wheat under the conditions of Southern Ukraine

Abstract
The article presents the results of studies on the character of formation and inheritance of winter hardiness in winter wheat hybrids and its manifestation in the typical varieties of winter wheat and alternative types. It proves that for obtaining a stable grain yield under late sowing dates (October, November) in the south of Ukraine, we should use alternative type varieties of wheat (spring-winter) of the steppe ecotype.
