THE COGNITIVE STYLE OF MYKOLA BAZHAN AND ITS TRANSFORMATION IN DIACHRONY

Abstract
The article analyzes the collection of poetry by Mykola Bazhan by means of psycholinguistics. The features of the cognitive style were determined and described according to the introvert-extrovert criterion, the style change in diachrony was traced. A detailed analysis of modern Internet resources, where the works of an outstanding artist of the word era of socialism are placed, is given. Critically reviewed publications about the creative work and work activities of the poet, public figure and politician. It was proposed to take into account the psychological characteristics of the author when analyzing a literary work. The presence of individual differences between people in the ways of knowing the world around is emphasized, indicated their decisive role in the regulation of intellectual activity. It has been found that the use of a realistic description in a literary work is inherent in people who are extroverted; abstract description associated with introverted personality. Based on the analysis of 175 works by М. Bazhan, a continuous sampling technique, it was established that the first half of the creative path (the time of the so-called revolutionary romanticism, the Stalin period, war) is marked by features of mental extroversion when descriptions, events, objects, landscapes, natural elements descriptions dominated in contexts. The second half of creativity (the writer began to engage in political and social activities, engaged in literary and scientific work) was marked by features of mental introversion, descriptions of the organic world (trees, animals, people) began to dominate in contexts, descriptions of frozen bodies began to appear forms, peace, no movement. The categorization criterion “extraverted/introverted” considered in the paper is one of the numerous cognitive styles: field dependence; latitude of equivalence range; the breadth of the category; cognitive control flexibility; focused control; reflexivity; abstract conceptualization; cognitive complexity and others.
