Abstract
The most pressing issue has always been land, especially for the post-reform period in the Ukrainian lands within the Russian Empire. National agriculture was an agricultural country, it came to the fore and made themselves known, attracting the attention of a broader public. The development of the agricultural sector needs assistance to achieve development. The network of agronomic organizations was created for the stable development of agriculture. It worked for the good of the population. With the same purpose there were written and published agricultural literature which was looking for the most accessible form for disseminating in the national environment of agronomic knowledge. That is the was how its particular kind of popular agricultural literature was created. It was aimed to give practical advice to agronomists with a number of features of the area. The creators of the Commission on agricultural extension were members of the Kiev agronomic society (1909-1918). The Commission was created in 1911, its aimwas defined as advocacy of agricultural knowledge by various methods: lectures, short courses, establishment of «agricultural trains», spread to the masses of literature. The members of the Commission were sure that agriculture will rapidly develop if each district will create its own «local agriculture». It means that the local experience will be accumulated and will be enable to determine the way of action after the analysis. So you can not lose «local material», it is necessary to accumulate, organize and distribute for practical use. That was the work of the Commission on agricultural extension.
