The components of the right to a fair trial: the right of the accused to be promptly informed

Abstract
Referring to the current debate on respect for fundamental human rights in criminal proceedings, this article seeks to capture the effectiveness of the right to a fair trial, namely the right to defense at the time of its birth. It is examined the importance of respecting the obligation to inform the accused in the criminal proceedings, in the light of the legal consequences that would arise in the case of the violation of the right of the accused to be informed of the effective exercise of the right to defense.
