The Computation of the Calender Rolls Deflection Using the Stone-Gaevski Formulae
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Dunarea de Jos" din Galati. Fascicula IX, Metalurgie si Stiinta Materialelor - Year 2005, Vol 28, Issue 2
Abstract
This paper presents new models for the change of the internal configuration of the paper calender rolls with extension to those for plastics and rubber, and the deflection calculation procedure using Stone-Gaevski formulae.

Aspects Regarding the Tradition of Bell Manufacture and Use
The paper presents the casting art of bells, their spiritual significance, as well as their evolution over time. The bells may be made of both metallic or/and nonmetallic materials, of various shapes and sizes. While pro...
Behaviour at Nitriding in Fluidized Layer of Austenitic Stainless Steels at the Temperature of 450 °C
Stainless austenitic steels have a good corrosion resistance but reduced abrasion strength due to low strength below 200HV5. By nitriding one may ensure the obtaining of a superficial layer with increased strength that s...
Influence of Cooling Oil on the Surface Quality of the Rolled Strip
The excess of emulsion used in the lamination process leads to the formation of drops which in the annealing process forms spots of burned emulsion. It was also shown to cause formation areas with high carbon concentrati...
Redesigning a Jaw Crusher Using Value Analysis, Part II
The paper presents a complete study of VALUE ANALYSIS applied concretely to a selected piece of equipment. The phases and ITERATIVE operation of the Value Analysis method are presented. Value Analysis combines both ENGIN...
Experimental Researches Concerning the Influence of the Oxynitrocarburizing Thermochemical Treatment over the Structure and Corrosion Resistance of C40 Steel
The aim of the paper is to present the results of the experimental researches regarding the corrosion behaviour of C40 steel, thermochemical treated by oxidant nitrocarburizing at 570 °C. The thermochemical treatment was...
