The creation of John Fowles in literary criticism process (anglo-american and lithuanian traditions)

Abstract
The article represents the variations of the XX th century English writer John Fowles’s (1926 - 2005) creation in the contemporary literature criticism process, depicts the first steps to include it in to Lithuanian criticism context. The articlere reveals the most actual aspects in Fowles’s creation that are stressed by lots of various literary critics: the influence of Romantism and Neo Romanticism, the close connection with Existentialist literature and philosophy, and the rudiments of Post-modern writing traditions. The first steps to include the creation of J.Fowles in to the Lithuanian literary context are compared with the deep English-American criticism tradition that already exists more than three decades.
