THE CULT OF «BOOK’S WISDOM» IN THE SVYATOSLAV’S «IZBORNIK» OF THE 1073 YEAR

Abstract
The article finds the connection between the literature of Kievan Rus and the Byzantine literature. Attention is focused on the study of imagery, tropes and poetics. «Izbornik Svyatoslav» in 1073 — an ancient anthology of the works of various authors, the interpretation of complex concepts of the Gospel, the Apostle and other church books. According to the genre «Izbornik Svyatoslav» it 1073, he continued the tradition of dialogical writing, which in the form of questions and answers gave an explanation to the topical issues of the Christian faith. The monument of 1073 is decorated with eight miniatures. The author’s text is constantly interrupted by the Bible in order to interpret the complex concepts of the Gospel, the Apostle and other church books; all the articles included in it, have an instructive, theological character, interpret the behavior of a true Christian. Ancient scribe-scribe appeals to written sources for the purpose of argumentation of his own thoughts and thus creates a wholly authored image of a bee that is wicked. The masterful use of this image demonstrates the free operation of the works of Byzantine theologians and preachers. The deployed provisions of the philosophical categories helped the reader to bring the obscure concepts closer to the needs of the contemporary reality, and provided transparency and accessibility to the terms used. By content, the monument is a kind of encyclopedia of Byzantine scholarship. The work contains articles of a religious and moral nature, as well as stories of prayers, fasting, short sentences of the Scriptures, «Teaching of children» by Xenophon and Theodora, and others like that. The article reveals the meaning of «Izbornik», which goes beyond the philosophical and religious themes and reflects the interest and level of education of the higher strata of the contemporary society. Extremely interesting for a modern reader and numerous aphorisms of secular nature. The content of this collection is not limited to philosophical and religious subjects, but serves as a manifestation of the level of preference and education of contemporary society.
