The Cyberpolitics and its Manifestations in Russia

Journal Title: Jaunųjų mokslininkų darbai - Year 2012, Vol 36, Issue 3

Abstract

Cyberpolitics has spread into all four corners of the world, particularly in the recent years (2011-2012). Russia stands as no exception to this trend, especially concerning its last parliamentary and presidential elections. Cyberpolitics penetrates all realms of Russian social, civic, cultural and political life across all social groups and ideological attitudes. Its presentday displays are rather varied. They can be spontaneous or orchestrated, candid or insidious; they can have local, regional, federal, civic, ethnic, community, religious, political as well as many other manifestations. Cyberpolitics is well-placed in either environment, be it expert or public, high politics or popular culture. It has strikingly grown into everyday Russian reality and cannot be simply ignored anymore.
