Abstract
The article deals with unveiling the peculiarities of decentralization process of public authority in the states of Central Europe (on the example of Poland and Hungary). The scientific and theoretical interest in this issue is caused by the ne- cessity of improvement (actual renewal) of a number of basic institutions of democracy and local government in Ukraine.
