Abstract
In 1969, Adina Brătianu – the wife of the National Liberal Party leader, Constantin I. C. Brătianu (who died in prison on the 20th of August, 1950, at Sighetu Marmaţiei) sent a letter to Nicolae Ceauşescu for requesting financial aid. The communist leader wrote “2000” on the copy of the document and Adina Brătianu received a pension amounting to 2,000 lei.
