The deformation modes of copper alloys under indenter
Journal Title: Recueil de mécanique - Year 2019, Vol 4, Issue 1
Abstract
The instrumented indentation test has been widely used and studied because of the ease it provides for estimating the mechanical properties of materials from the force-displacement curve for miniature material volumes. During an indentation test, the material tends to deform under the indenter in two ways; either a sink-in or pile-up according to its mechanical behavior. The intention of this paper is to describe the procedures for this indentation technique to determine the local properties of these nanoscale copper alloys and estimate the variation of their deformation energies according to the transition criterion of the deformation mode to affirm the modal coexistence.
Numerical simulation of failure probability prediction: Application to cylindrical part of type III CNG storage vessel
The present paper focus on a numerical simulation failure probability prediction of cylindrical part of type III CNG storage vessel under pressure with end effect, which has a thin metallic envelope, called liner who is...
Analysis of the influence of angular speed on the wear of a trapezoidal toothed timing belt
Timing belts are essential elements in automobile mechanics. Notched and tensioned, the belt allows the engine components to act synchronously. Its function is mainly to drive the crankshaft and the camshaft, which thems...
Numerical investigation of latent heat thermal energy storage system
The present work aims to study numerically the performance of a latent heat thermal energy storage unit. Which is composed of shell and tube. The annular space is filled by a phase change material (PCM), however the wate...
Theoretical and experimental investigation of on glass solar still
This paper presents a theoretical and experimental work performed on a glass solar still. The solar distiller under study was fabricated with cheap glass and the polyethylene as absorber, and was tested under the climati...
Modeling the radiate and energy balance of a building located in the Adrar region
In this paper, we study the effect of temperature and external solar flow on the evolution of daily solar radiation incidental on the walls of a building located in the ADARAR region of Algeria. The numerical simulations...
