The Description Of Students’ Knowledgeon Disaster Risk Reduction in Campus D-III Nursing Blitar

Abstract

Disaster risk reduction is a concept and practice of reducing disaster risk through systematic efforts to analyze and manage disaster factors. The research objective was to describe the knowledge of students in campus D III Nursing Blitar on disaster risk reduction. This research method used descrip- tive design. The population of this study were all students at Campus D III Nursing Blitar as much as 290 students. The sample in this study were all students of level 1 as much as 91 students. The sampling technique used quota sampling. The data collection was done by questionnaire. The data collected on May 12, 2015. The results showed 85.7% (78 respondents) had a good knowledge and 14.3% (13 respondents) had fair knowledge. The recomendation of this study was institution had to conduct an evaluation and educational policy in programming related to disaster risk reduction and disaster management, as well as students were given the opportunity to develop skills and experience in disaster response both within the institution and outside the institution.
