THE DOCTRINE OF MUSICAL ETHOS IN CLASSICAL GREECE

Abstract
This article deals with doctrine of musical ethos, which was a main philosophical conception of music perception in Antiquity. It spreads and reaches its apogee in works of classical Greek philosophers, so this article is an attempt to clarify this doctrine in the period of its flourishing and particular significance. The article highlights this phenomenon within the broader socio-cultural context and explains main features of the doctrine itself.
