THE EFFECT OF ADDING AN EXPLOITATION SUPPLEMENT ON THE WEAR OF FRICTION PAIRS
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2012, Vol 242, Issue 2
Abstract
The study presents the results of experimental research in the scope of modifying the operating conditions of friction pairs with the use of an exploitation supplement. Within the study, experimental research at AMSLER test rig was carried out in order to examine the mass loss of samples lubricated with clean and contaminated gear oil to which the exploitation supplement was added. Apart from the determination of the mass loss, measurements of roughness and microscopic examinations of mating samples were performed. A significant improvement in the tribological properties of friction pairs was demonstrated, which was associated with the use of the examined refiner.
