The effect of growth regulators on content of assimilation pigment in leaves of three soybean cultivars (Glycine max L. Merr)
Journal Title: Rośliny Oleiste - Oilseed Crops - Year 2010, Vol 31, Issue 2
Abstract
Two-year pot experiment was carried out in a vegetation house of the Western Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin aimed at determination of the effect of exogenous growth regulators, i.e. indolilo-3-butyric acid (IBA) and 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) used separately and in mixture, on the content of assimilation pigments (total chlorophyll and carotenoids) in the seeds of three Polish soybean (Glycine max L. Merr) cultivars, i.e. Aldana, Progres and Jutro. During plant vegetation, a double spraying with growth regulators at a concentration of 30 mg·dm-3 was applied. Control plants were sprayed with distilled water. The assimilation pigments were measured three times in each vegetation season (triparted compound leaf stage, flowering stage, seeds development stage). As a result of performed examinations soybean cultivars were found to show the highest chlorophyll total and carotenoids contents in the triparted compound leaf stage and in the flowering stage. The cultivar Aldana sprayed with indolilo-3-butyric acid (IBA) was characterised by significantly higher assimilation pigments content at seed development stage than control cultivars. Regulator growth was effective in delaying leaves senescence by retarding the assimilation pigments loss.

Phenotypic changes in poppy plants (Papaver somniferum L.) after flowering and accumulation of morphine in poppy capsules. II. The study on accumulation of morphine in poppy capsules between the end of flowering and maturity
Due to the current law about preventing drug addiction, the Department of Genetics and Breeding of Oilseed Crops IHAR-PIB in Poznan undertook a study whose main objective was to determine the dynamic of morphine accumula...
Wykorzystanie krzyżowania oddalonego do poszerzania zmienności genetycznej w rodzaju Brassica sp.
Krzyżowanie roślin genetycznie oddalonych pozwala na wprowadzenie korzystnych cech z form dzikich do form uprawnych. Niezgodność genetyczna występująca między krzyżowanymi gatunkami często uniemożliwia efektywne krzyżowa...

Molecular markers for studying of oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) I. The review of marker techniques
Modern molecular biology is the continuous source of new techniques that can be applied to obtain genetic markers, icluding, first of all, molecular (DNA) markers. Such markers are widely used for studying oilseed rape....
The influence of trinexapac-ethyl, chlorocholine chloride, metconazole and tebuconazole on plant morphology and yield of winter oilseed rape depending on time of application
Canopy structure of winter rape can be significantly modified through application of plant growth regulators. Time of application of plant growth regulator on winter rape is strongly connected with the aim of its action....
