THE EFFECT OF IMPLEMENTATION OF ACCREDITATION ON QUALITATIVE INDICES OF THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT OF SALMAN FARSI HOSPITAL IN BOUSHEHR IN 2015 AND COMPARING IT WITH YEAR 2012

Abstract
Introduction: accreditation in the emergency department of hospitals is very important such that studies indicated that it improves performance of emergency department. Accreditation means systematic evaluation of healthcare service centers with certain standards. Such standards should focus on permanent improvement of quality, patient-orientation, security of patient and personnel. Method: this is a descriptive-analytical research. statistical forms related to the year 2015 were compared to statistical forms in 2012. The condition of emergency department has been studied before and after accreditation. Then, information was gathered using regression and STATA software. Results: results showed that there was no significant change in satisfaction after accreditation compared to before accreditation. It means that accreditation of services did not neither reduce nor increase satisfaction of clients. Results indicated that disposition of the emergency department patients within 6 hours after accreditation was increased compared to before accreditation. In addition, percent of unsuccessful CPR had no significant difference with that before accreditation.Conclusion: the study indicated that accreditation improves the emergency department 's services.
