Journal Title: Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Araştırmaları Dergisi - Year 2017, Vol 9, Issue 1
Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to influence the service accuracy of 8-week plyometric exercises applied to 22-24 age group sedanter male tennis players. Sixteen male tennis players between the ages of 22 and 24 participated in the study voluntarily. Randomized control (n = 8) and experiment (n = 8) groups were separated after initial measurements of age, height, body weight and Dewitt-Dugan service and ITN Service test of the athletes. For both groups, 8-week technical training was applied while technical and plyometric training was applied to the experimental group. After the obtained data were recorded in Microsoft Excel program, SPSS 16 was transferred to the packet program and the descriptive statistics were evaluated by Wilcoxon in the groups themselves and Mann-Whitney U test analysis between the groups. The precision of the analyzes performed was taken as p = 0.05. In the comparison between experiment and control group; The Dewitt-Dugan service test was found to be p = 0.78 at the initial measurements and p = 0.31 at the final measurements of the Dewitt-Dugan service test and no significant difference was found. ITN service test was found to be p = 0.67 at initial measurements and p = 0.83 at final measurements of ITN service test and no significant difference was found (p<0,05). As a result, it can be said that the 8-week plyometric training does not have a positive effect on the service performance of the athletes.
