THE EFFECT OF SURYANAMASKAR YOGASANA ON MUSCULAR ENDURANCE AND FLEXIBILITY AMONG INTERCOLLEGE YOGINIS

Abstract
Study aim: To assess the effects of suryanamaskar yogasana on muscular endurance and flexibility. Material and methods: Thirty randomly selected female students aged 17-25 years volunteered to participate in the study. They were randomly assigned into two groups: A (experimental) and B (control). The subjects were subjected to a six week suryanamaskar yogasana training programme. The difference in the mean of each group for selected variable was tested for the significance of difference by “t” test. The level of significance was set at 0.05. Results: The muscular endurance and flexibility significantly improved in group A compared with the control one. Conclusions: Suryanamaskar asana may be recommended to improve muscular endurance and flexibility
