THE EFFECTS OF DRUG ABUSE ON YOUTH PRODUCTIVITY IN CALABAR OF CROSS RIVER STATE

Abstract
In the last two decades there has been so much attention from both international and local organisations on substance and drug abuse by youths in many parts of the world including Nigeria. Despite this focus and preventative measures that both government and nongovernmental organisations have employed, there seems to be an increase of drug abuse by youths in Calabar town of Cross River State, Nigeria. This paper explored and examines the inuences of abuse on productivity. This includes the cause roots of youths' drug abuse in the town. The mixed method was employed in the study. Thus, the quantitative data consist of existing documents, while the quantitative data were from experiment. Based on the ndings, recommendations are proposed in this paper.
