Abstract
The article deals with the concept of cryptocurrency. Characterized the development process and predictors of electronic money appearance. Analyzed the nature and economic essence of virtual money (cryptocurrency). Сonsidered the tendencies of its spreading in Ukraine. Indicated the prospects for further development of cryptocurrency.
