THE ESSENCE OF SCIENCE AND ITS PLACE IN THE SOCIAL ORGANIZATION

Abstract
The article considers approaches to the definition of the essence of the category "science". With the help of the structural-functional approach it is proved that science can be considered an autonomous subsystem in the structure of the social system. From the position of analysis of the laws of the functioning of society as a whole organism is affirmed the understanding of science as a phenomenon that through its specific forms enters every subsystem of society, influences their functioning, receiving thus a return impulse to own changes.
