Journal Title: Науковий вісник Південноукраїнського національного педагогічного університету імені К. Д. Ушинського - Year 2017, Vol 119, Issue 6
Abstract
The article is devoted to the issue covering the phenomenon «pupils’ collective». It is highlighted that the problem of the collective is a part of the general problem concerning a human being, which is considered from the standpoint of philosophical, socio-psychological and socio-pedagogical sciences and takes an important place among other problems of our time. Due to certain relationships, to a particular level of consciousness and moral education, the collective is an important factor and a means of education, development and formation of the human personality. The modern interpretation of the concept «collective» by scientific sources is given, such as: a group of people, united by common work, common interests; association of individuals on the basis of any common tasks; activities interoperability and mutual assistance; constancy of contact; effective organization; a type of social organization of group life, in which the connections and relations between individuals are mediated by socially significant goals; the highest stage in the development of organized people’s community, aimed at achieving socially significant goals and uniting its members by means of the joint activity process, as well as by its organization and stimulation system; a group of people united by common goals and objectives, who achieved a high development level in the process of joint activity; a social group, united on the basis of socially meaningful goals, general values and joint activities. The actual understanding of the notion «collective» is represented, it is understood as a group of people who are mutually influencing one another and connected by a commonality of socially determined goals, interests, needs, norms and rules of conduct, activity commonality, unity of will, expressed by the leadership of the collective; by virtue of the above mentioned, it reaches a higher development level than a simple group or «pupils’ collective», which is interpreted as a group of pupils, united by a general socially significant goal, activity, organization of this activity, it has self-governing bodies, it is characterised by moral and psychological unity, by a combination of personal and collective interests as well as life activity dynamism. The public character of school education states the need for scientific elaboration of the purposeful moral formation of the child's personality. This problem affects the interests of the whole society, since it may not be interested in its future citizens. In the pupils’ collective, the deepest interaction of an individual and a collective, including the most versatile development of an individual with its maximum individualization, is accomplished. The problem of pupils’ development in a school collective (T. Konnikova) and peculiarities of schoolchildren’s educational staff (L. Novikova) are revealed. The role of the teacher in the development of the children's collective is determined.
