The Evaluation of the Boundary Vorticity by URANS and LES Methods
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2015, Vol 7, Issue 4
Abstract
The role of concentrated vorticity in fluid dynamics phenomena, concerning both the vorticity creation at the boundary and the response to the flow field is not wholly understood. The Lighthill describes the vorticity production at a solid boundary as a slow diffusion of the vorticity similar to the Fourier heat conduction. In the paper it is shown that this mechanism associated to URANS method is not applied to the concentrated vorticity case, and the LES method better reproduces the flows involving concentrations vorticity.

Comparative Analysis Program for Experimental and Calculated Data
This article aims to provide an interactive in-house tool to quickly asses the stress in the critical points of the aeronautical structures. The software compares the results between the stress values obtained from the e...
Quality Management Principles as Illustrated by the Organization of Romanian Inter-War Factories. A Century of Romanian Industrial Tradition in Aeronautics
Inter-war Romania developed 6 aircraft factories, the first starting its activity in 1916. Four of these, with three located in Bucharest, produced over 2000 aircraft, maily for the military use as Romania entered the Se...
Assessment of some high-order finite difference schemes on the scalar conservation law with periodical conditions
Supersonic/hypersonic flows with strong shocks need special treatment in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in order to accurately capture the discontinuity location and his magnitude. To avoid numerical instabilities in...
Analytical solutions of a particular Hill's differential system
Consider a second order differential linear periodic equation. This equation is recast as a first-order homogeneous Hill’s system. For this system we obtain analytical solutions in explicit form. The first solution is a...
STATE OF THE ART TECHNIQUES USED FOR NOISE SOURCE IDENTIFICATION ON COMPLEX BODIES
Over the last few decades, many approaches have been undertaken in order to asses detailed noise source identification on complex bodies, i.e. aircrafts, cars, machinery. Noise source identification implies to accurately...
