Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 4, Issue 4

Abstract

Soil erosion and its relating problems has led a lot of scientists to research and explore in it. In this study the function of watershed integrated management in water and soil resources is evaluated. Shafaroud in the West of Gilan, is located between Rezvanshahr and paresar. This area is placed in 48º 41 00" western length, 37º 35´ 00 southern width and 37º 34 30 northern width of prime meridian, (Figure 1-1), and is made of two branches khoshabar and Shafaroud, which are joined together in an area 7 km to the West of poonel Village, under the name of Shafaroud river pours into the Caspian Sea and it is also bounded to the north by Loomier basin, to the west by the province border, to south by shanderman and to the east by 31, 32 ,33 basins. This area has been named as Shafaroud basin number 9 in accordance with the classification of forests and pastures organization. It’s Maximum height is 2903 m and it’s minimum height is 60 m. Today one of the problems in society improvment is Soil erosion. This issue is so important that most of the developing countries have used groups to study soil erosion and the quality of it’s stability. It is required to give special importance to soil and also make it to be stable and not frayed by means of doing more Watershed management , management and observation operations because it is one of the natural resources and production factor, provides human being with vital needs and it is a factor in economic improvement as well.
