The first DNA barcode record for Rhyacophila bosnica Schmid, 1970 and pairing of adult and larval life stages
Journal Title: Genetics & Applications - Year 2018, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
Rhyacophila Pictet, 1834 is globally distributed and highly diverse genus of caddisflies (Trichoptera), characterized by numerous regionally endemic species. In the Balkan Peninsula, the highest number of Rhyacophila species (23) was recorded for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Rhyacophila bosnica Schmid, 1970 is found only in the Balkan Dinaric region, with a locus typicus in Vučja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Like with many species of Trichoptera, the morphology of its larva is still unknown. Therefore, DNA barcoding approach was used to link two developmental stages. In this paper, we report on the first DNA barcode record for this species. Introduction Data regarding

IN SILICO PREDICTION OF mtDNA GENE EXPRESSION BASED ON CODON USAGE BIAS IN ANTS (Formicidae latreille, 1802) THAT INHABIT LIMESTONE QUARRY ECOSYSTEMS
Codon usage is considered as a modulator of gene expression, due to high correlation between codon usage, tRNA abundance and the level of gene expression. Adaptability is primarily manifested at gene level therefore mtDN...
Assessment of Listerine Cool Mint mouthwash influence on possible DNA damage measured by buccal micronucleus cytome assay - preliminary results
Listerine is a brand of mouthwash most used worldwide in oral hygene maintainance. Due to its antimicrobic and antifungal characteristics, it can stop/diminish the development of plaque and gingivitis. Among different ty...
