THE GENRE OF REVUE IN THE METADRAMATIC MATRIX OF UKRAINIAN LITERATURE (BASED ON THE PLAYS BY ILARION CHULGAN)

Abstract
The article deals with the genre specificity of the revue in European and Ukrainian literature. Among its artistic peculiarities are the following: open structure, active communication with the audience, parody, condensed intertextuality, doubling of the stage conditionality, etc. As a result, it is appropriate to consider a revue in the paradigm of metadramatic forms. The plays by Ilarion Chulgan was taken as an example. Ilarion Chulgan is a bright representative of the diaspora drama of the mid-twentieth century. Creative cooperation with the theatrical team of J. Hirnyak led to the appearance of revue in the writer’s work. The author’s peculiarity manifested itself in the ironic-intellectual play mode, the bright theatricalization of space, the description of the “other worlds”
