«THE GLYPHS OF LOVE, ENCODED THROUGH THE BOOK OF CHANGES»: THE POETICS OF BODY ENOUNCIATING IN LESYA MUDRAK’S COLLECTION «TEXT-TYLE’& LIBIDO (REFLECTIONS)»
Journal Title: Наукові праці. Серія "Філологія. Літературознавство" - Year 2016, Vol 271, Issue 259
Abstract
In the article the specific nature of corporal correlation has been studied in different aspects: time and space, intimate and existential, ironic and grotesque. The study was based on the material of a new collection of poems and translations, rehashes and prose sketches «TeX-TI-LE & Libido (reflections)» by Lesya Mudrak. The varieties of female body externalization, in particular eroticized body, body-part, pliable and changeable body, body-pain, virtual body, body-language, etc. have been analyzed through the concepts of J.Butler, J. Nancy, J. Bataille, M. Foucault, R. Barthes. In this book female voices speak/enunciate the body of the text through ontological dimensions of loneliness, time cycling («woman as a membrane of time») and the memory of the body. The attention is focused on the text-forming role performed in this collection by «the body language» (A. Arto) which reflects the microtopos of sensuality, desire, pleasure and sexuality. Its specific features are disintegration of the words into syllables and the use of sound symbolism. The corporality of the writing and the visual character of the erotopoetry are emphasized in such a way. Moreover, a specific meaning in the book is assigned to the images looking for Herself Different through the unity of the spiritual and physical dichotomies of the being. The specific feature of the collection is its performing character: during erotic and art poetry festivals intersemiotic encoding/insonation of the «literary» body of the collection was performed via theatrical reciting of Lesia Mudrak’s works and its visualization accompanied by tango or background sounds of violin is stressed. It has been pointed out that corporality in the collection exists in three levels: a biological human body as an organism (body disintegrated into parts: «crack-head», eyes, hair, nose, mouth, stomach, arms, etc.); internal physicality as a variety of body microtoposes and as an external one – the body in the context of its reception by others.
