The Impact of Mobile Application to Deaf and Mute Students Communication Level (Impak Aplikasi Mudah Alih Terhadap Tahap Komunikasi Pelajar Pekak dan Bisu)

Abstract

Communication is a process of communicating information, ideas, feelings from an individual to another person. In the context of special education, deaf and mute students have problems in writing a sentence. The purpose of this study is to identify the components of mobile applications that would give an impact to students with disabilities. This paper focuses on mobile applications as a learning tool to improve students communication skills. This study used questionnaire to obtain the data and the respondents involved were 122 people. The findings showed the students was using mobile apps significantly increase their level of non-verbal communication. Based on the findings, mobile applications are suitable as a reference materials for students.
