The impact of optimistic prejudice on human food behavior

Abstract

In the article the influence of optimistic prejudices is investigated on food behavior of a person. It is marked, that various researches study pre-conditions, interconnections and consequences of food behavior, and our work has for an object to consider one of aspects of such researches, namely to consider food behavior from a social-psychological prospect, analysing influence of “optimistic prejudice” (or differently – “unrealistic optimism”) on food behavior of a person. It is confirmed that people, that show optimistic prejudice in relation to the own personal probability to run into the various negative consequences related to the food threats, are less apt to the acceptance of measures of caution and forming of long-term preventive strategies of the personal health.
