The Impact of the Adoption of the Benchmarking Method in Assessing the University Performance: A Case Study of AL-Zarqa and Al-Aqaba Colleges of Al-Balqa Applied University

Abstract

This study aims at analyzing the impact of the adoption of the benchmarking method in assessing the university performance: a case study of Al-Zarqa and Al-Aqaba colleges in Al-Balqa Applied University. To achieve this goal, the researcher designed a questionnaire included five elements of benchmarking and the university performance variable and consisted of (68) items. The tool's reliability was tested. The questionnaire was applied to the sample study of (38) faculty members randomly selected of these two colleges out of (128) faculty members using the random sample method with a percentage of (30%). The study reached a number of results, including: a- There are statistically significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05), between responses of faculty members at Al-Zarqa and Al-Aqaba colleges of Al-Balqa Applied University about the adoption of the benchmarking method in terms of its elements represented by (academic course, study plan, exams, and results). However there were no statistically significant differences at the mentioned level, between responses of faculty members at both Al-Zarqa and Al-Aqaba Colleges of Al-Balqa Applied University about the adoption of the benchmarking method of two elements which are (faculty members, and class behavior(. b- There is a statistically significant impact at the significance level (α = 0.05), to adopt the benchmarking approach in assessing the University performance in both Al-Zarqa and Al-Aqaba Colleges of Al-Balqa Applied University
