The impact of welding wire on the mechanical properties of welded joints
Journal Title: Materials Engineering - Materialove inzinierstvo (MEMI) - Year 2014, Vol 21, Issue 3
Abstract
This paper presents results of the mechanical properties of Hardox 450 steel welded joints. These welded joints were made in accordance with welding procedure specifications (WPS), which was prepared and applied in the Wielton company. Fillers were provided by welding wires with two different diameters. The welding wire was G4Sil with diameter of 1.0 mm and 1.2 mm. The aim of this study was to examine whether the thickness of the welding wire has a direct effect on the properties of welded joints. Test specimens were made in similar parameters of the welding process. Then they were subjected to macroscopic research, tensile strength, impact strength and hardness

USING THE VIDEOEXTENSOMETRY AND UCI - HARDNESS FOR MONITORING OF AUTOMOTIVE STEEL SHEETS
The paper deals with examination of relation between the hardness and the size of plastic zone during the tensile loading. UCI (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance) micro-hardness method was used for hardness measurements. Defo...
Interaction of sub-zero treated Cr-V ledeburitic steel with alumina,100 Cr6 steel and bronze in dry sliding
The interaction of the Vanadis 6 steel, processed without/with an application of sub-zero treatment, with alumina (hard counterface), 100Cr6-ball bearing steel (counterface of an intermediate hardness) and CuSn6 (soft co...
Influence of the surface finishing on the corrosion behaviour of AISI 316L stainless steel
The influence of the surface preparation of AISI 316L stainless steel by mechanical grinding, polishing and following passivation was examined by immersion corrosion tests in solution simulating body fluids. Decreasing o...
EVOLUTION OF MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ULTRA-FINE-GRAINED INTERSTITIAL-FREE STEEL PROCESSED BY EQUAL CHANNEL ANGULAR PRESSING
Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) is one of the severe plastic deformation techniques which is widely used for producing metals with ultra-fine-grained microstructures. In the present work the influence of number of p...
