The importance of quality visual and verbal information transfer in teaching swimming processes among students from the University School of Physical Education in Cracow

Abstract
[b]The purpose of the work.[/b] Currently, improvements for efficient teaching methods of motor skills are a basic theme of continuous, empirical research. Results of existing research have indicated that properly selected verbal and visual transfer methods can have influence on the effects of teaching, learning and instructing motor abilities. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the level of influence on progression in both knowledge and technique of free-style swimming, taken from a range of instructed techniques, using prescribed, enriched transfer by visual and verbal information during the teaching and learning processes.[b]Material and methods.[/b] Research was made in academic year 2007/2008. The survey covered a total of 158 students. The study was based on a natural pedagogical conduct experiment, which presented fundamental investigative method with employment of parallel groups (experimental and control). The experimental factor was a method using visual and verbal information to enrich the transference of information to the student, in contrast to the traditional didactic operations.[b]Results and conclusion. [/b]On the basis of the research, the analysis has indicated a superior efficiency of the suggested instructing method to other standard pedagogical methods in the field. The differences in progress between participants of the research groups are evident. The group that utilized the “enriched transfer of information” method, statistically, produced more competent swimmers.
