THE INFLUENCE OF ACCELERATION ON THE EFFICIENCY OF SAND COMPACTION TESTS CONDUCTED ON A VIBRATING TABLE
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 24
Abstract
The paper presents a standard vibrating table for fresh concrete testing adopted for determination of maximum dry density (dmax) of sand. Vibration is an efficient method for coarse soil compaction therefore vibrating tables are useful for dmax determination. Acceleration that the soil is subject to is one of the basic parameters of efficient compaction. A vibrating table with inertial excitation was supplemented by a frequency converter and subjected to dynamic tests. The results of measurements of dynamic parameters are included. The paper presents problems connected with this method and describes the relationship between efficiency of compaction and accelerations which the soil is subjected to.

ANALYSIS OF FREE VIBRATIONS OF A PLATE AND FLUID IN CONTAINER
The paper concerns the free vibrations of a plate in contact with a fluid in a container. The plate is supported at container walls. The analysed problem is a coupled problem of the structure-liquid type. It is assumed t...
AIDED PHYTOSTABILIZATION OF COPPER CONTAMINATED SOILS WITH L. PERENNE AND MINERAL SORBENTS AS SOIL AMENDMENTS
The present study was designed to assess phytostabilization strategies for the treatment of soil co-contaminated by increasing levels of copper with the application mineral amendments (chalcedonite, zeolite, dolomite). F...
Wastewater treatment in constructed wetlands
Constructed wetlands are an alternative and economically reasonable way for the wastewater from dispersed development treatment. Existing systems showed that the effectiveness of this treatment is high. The whole treatme...
SELECTED TRACE ELEMENT CONCENTRATIONS IN PEAT USED FOR COSMETIC PRODUCTION – A CASE STUDY FROM SOUTHERN POLAND
The aim of the study was to assess the concentration of selected trace elements in organic soils used as a source to obtain a unique peat extract for cosmetics production. Peat material for laboratory analysis were colle...
THE POSSIBILITY TO USE MODIFIED FLIGHT ASH AS A NEUTRALIZER IN THE ACID SOILS RECLAMATION PROCESSES
Using the alkaline fly ash after combustion of lignite as the acid soils neutralizer is a technique known for decades. Due to many disadvantages of the direct fly ash application it is sought to modify this material prio...
