The internal model in the context of solvency II: opportunities and challenges

One of the controversial issues, facing insurance companies, affecting the Solvency II framework, is the choice between a Standard formula or an Internal Model in determining capital requirements. The report presents some essential features, advantages and disadvantages of the Internal Model.
