THE LEXICAL MEANS REALIZING LAZINESS CONCEPT IN ENGLISH LITERARY DISCOURSE

Abstract
The article is dedicated to the definition of the lexical means verbalizing LAZINESS concept in English Literary Discourse. The analysis of the dictionaries definitions has enabled to define the essence of LAZINESS concept meaning component. It has been established that most of the dictionaries definitions of LAZINESS concept are characterized by negative evaluative connotation, based on the meaning of passivity, inactivity, slowness. However, positive evaluative definition is also promoted, which implies an object’s calm, relaxed behavior. The English Literary Discourse data analysis has enabled to differentiate nuclear, nearnuclear and peripheral lexemes, which have in their semantic structure semes, incorporating LAZINESS concept.
