THE METHODOLOGY OF COGNITIVE-PRAGMATIC ASPECT STUDY OF BIBLICAL IMAGE-SYMBOL IN MYSTIC THRILLER GENRE (BASED OF FRANK PERETTI NOVELS)

Abstract
The article covers the methodology of cognitive-pragmatic aspect studying of biblical image-symbol in the genre of mystery thriller based on Frank Peretti novels. The article describes the main methods of cognitive-pragmatic analysis. It gives the interpretation of the term «biblical image-symbol» in the context of cognitive-pragmatic analysis of the text. It explains the stages of the methodology for the cognitivepragmatic aspect studying of biblical image-symbol based on Frank Peretti novels. The biblical image-symbol is a complex semiotic construct that comes from the combination of biblical images and symbols. The biblical image-symbol in the fictional embodiment is considered to be an individual-authorial one and obtains symbolism in a certain context. A mystical thriller is a literary genre where protagonists face supernatural forces and phenomena that threaten their own heroes, or their loved ones, or humanity as a whole. Frank Peretti’s mystical thrillers are very popular in the English-speaking world. Unfortunately, none of his works have been translated into Ukrainian yet.
