THE MONITORING OF 2D-3D TRANSITION FOR InAs/GaAs (001) SELF-ASSEMBLED QUANTUM DOTS BY ATOMIC FORCE MICROSCOPY
Journal Title: Journal of Science And Arts - Year 2008, Vol 9, Issue 2
Abstract
We present a detailed Atomic Force Microscopy study of InAs/GaAs (001) selfassembled quantum dots grown by Molecular Beam Epitaxy during its complete evolution cycle (transition from 2D islands to 3D islands). We have performed a statistical analysis regarding quantum dot number density identifying the existence of two separated distributions (for quasi-3D dots and 3D dots). We have observed that the density number value of quasi-3D QDs decreases from 1.1 x 10 cm to 4.3 x 10 cm for a coverage between 1.57 ML and 1.61 ML, while for 3D QDs it increases by a factor of 10 (from 2.1 x 1010 cm-2 to 2.3 x 1010 cm-2) so as the 3D QDs become the prevailed structures. We can assume as critical coverage, 1.59 ML.

A PARALLEL ALGORITHM FOR SOLVING TRIDIAGONAL LINEAR SYSTEMS
The coarse-grainded architecture model has been proposed to be a model of iently close existing parallel machines. Under this model we design a communication-efficient parallel algorithm for the solution of tridiagonal l...
ON THE MONOTONY OF (1+1/n)^n+0.5 AND AN APPLICATION
In this paper we expose two different proofs for the fact that the sequence of general term (1+1/n^)n+0.5which convergesto the celebrated constant of Napier also called the number of Euler, the number e, is strictly decr...
TIMELIKE BIHARMONIC S-CURVES ACCORDING TO SABBAN FRAME IN (S1^2)H
In this paper, we study timelike biharmonic curves according to Sabban frame in the (S1^2)H. We characterize the timelike biharmonic curves in terms of their geodesic curvature. Finally, we find out their explicit parame...
VISCOSITY INDEX IMPROVER FOR POLY (ALKYL METHACRY LATE) CONCENTRATED SOLUTIONS
To establish the ability of copolymer poly (alkyl methacrylate) solutions in rapeseed oil as solvent to perform at low and high temperatures in a vehicle’s engine, that is their capacity to improve the oil’s viscosity in...
ON THE EXTENSION OF BILATERAL GENERATING FUNCTIONS OF MODIFIED JACOBI POLYNOMIALS
In this note, we have obtained a novel extension of a bilateral generating function of modified Jacobi polynomials from the existence of quasi-bilateral generating function by group-theoretic method
