The multifunctional activity of social worker as a part of essence of social work

Abstract
The article highlights the problem of the essence of social work that has an active nature of origin; analyzes the activity of a social worker from the standpoint of the focused multifunctionality that serves as a form of activity and defines the motion vector of the social space. The author presents the preconditions of the implementation of professional activities, which largely affects the efficiency of social policy of the country, identifies the prospects and strategic priorities of the social development and is aimed to the transformation of the social environment according to the needs of each person.
