THE PATH OF THE STRUGGLE OF THE UPA MEMBER OREST-METHODIY DYCHKOVSKIY (1930–2009)

Abstract
The life path of the fighter for Ukrainian independence of Orest-Methody Dychkovskiy is highlighted in the article on the basis of previously unpublished documents of the Sectoral State Archives of the Security Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region. The author investigated the activities of the Ukrainian nationalist in the UPA, his imprisonment in Soviet concentration camps and his contribution to the development of Ukrainian independence in 1991–2009. O.-M. Dychkovskiy during the resistance movement of the 1940’s and 1950’s served as intelligence officer and informer, which led to a prolonged imprisonment in concentration camps and the exile. In the conditions of independent Ukraine, he participated in the political life of the country, organized research work on the history and ideology of the UPA and became the co-founder of the All-Ukrainian brotherhood of the OUN-UPA. In addition, the Ukrainian nationalist predicted the Ukrainian-Russian war and laid the foundations for the functioning of a unique educational institution – the Precarpathian military sports lyceum, which became the bogus of the military personnel of the state
