The Personality of Mujadded –Alf-Shani and his Services through the eyes of Scholars

Abstract
Scholars, historians or thinkers, whoever has a keen eye on the Muslim history of the subcontinent in general and 16th century in particular agree on the historic and unparalleled services of Mujaddid Alaf Sani for safety and propagation of Islam. His services in the common jargon of Haditah can be called as Tajdeed. Hazrat Mujaddid Alaf Sani struggled to spread the teachings of Islam in the Sub-continent and endeavored to mitigate the very spirit of Akbar’s Deen-e-ilahi and bringing a revolution not only helped a staunch Aurangzeb Alamgeer to take the throne but also provided a firm ground to Shah Waliullah and his followers. Later who would not only work for its further consolidation in the subcontinent but elate the subcontinent to the position of being the beacon of knowledge of Islam for the whole Islamic world at large. A number of scholars have highlighted different dimensions of the services of Mujaddid Alaf Sani. This paper throws light on the status the services of Mujaddid Alaf Sani hold in the eyes of the said scholars.
