THE PRINCIPLE OF OLD CUSTOM IN LITHUANIAN-RUSSIAN LEGAL CONSCIENESS (XIV – XVI C.)

Abstract
This article deals with the role and the place of the principle of old custom in the legal conscience of the Lithuani- an-Russian society in the 14th – 16th centuries. The reasons for the approval of the principle in public legal conscience are determined. The features of the functioning of this principle in law-making and law-applying practice of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania are shown.
