THE PROBLEM OF DIALECT DETERMINATION OF THE MIDDLE BUG

Abstract
The article deals with determination of the Middle Bug area dialects as part of Ukrainian language dialects. The purpose of the article is to determine the history and present state of the Middle Bug area dialects and to trace dialects dissemination on the territory from the 19th century to the present. Different hypotheses of scientists (M. O. Maksimovich, I. M. Vagilevich, Y. F. Golovatskiy, O. O. Potebnya, K. P. Mihalchuk, A.Y. Krimskiy, M. F. Nakonechniy, S. P. Bevzenko and others) on the problem are considered in the article. M. O. Maksimovich studied the dialects at both banks of the Dnieper and Podillian dialects, I. M. Vagilevich – Bug and Podillian dialects, Y. F. Golovatskiy – dialects of the Ukrainian dialectical group, O. O. Potebnya – Ukrainian and Podillian dialects, K. P. Mihalchuk – dialects of the Ukrainian dialectical group, S. P. Bevzenko – Podillian dialects of the south-western dialectical group, steppe dialects of the south-eastern dialectical group function on the territory of the Middle Bug area. The results of the research can be used at the classes on dialectology.
