The Problem of Spiritual and Moral Upbringing of Modern Youth in V. A. Sukhomlynsky's Pedagogical Heritage

Abstract
As the title implies, the article presents an analysis of V. Sukhomlynsky's pedagogical system in the context of the usage his ideas concerning the spiritual and moral upbringing of the modern youth. The essence of the concepts of spirituality, spiritual and moral upbringing of the personality, morality, conscience, individuality and its spiritual development are analyzed. The main ideas of the prominent scientist and expert, which characterize his views on the process of educating the personality of a young person, the interaction of the teacher and students, are described. The role of father, mother, family, student's staff and teachers' collective in the development of the spiritual and moral culture of the individual is suggested. The fact that V. O. Sukhomlynsky's ideas are very useful not only for modern youth is stressed. The main components of the spiritual world of the individual in the context of the outstanding teacher's ideas, their interconnection and interdependence are considered. The article gives a detailed analysis of V. O. Sukhomlynsky's ideas of modern youth's moral upbringing. According to the article the main problems of spiritual and moral upbringing of modern youth and the ways of their solutions, which are defined in the pedagogical heritage of V. O. Sukhomlynsky, are outlined.
