THE PROBLEM OF THE EXISTENCE OF A CHARACTER IN A NOVEL «THE CATCHER IN THE RYE» BY J. SALINGER

Abstract
According to the article, the problem of the existence of a character in a novel «The Catcher in the Rye» by J. Salinger is considered. It is noticed that the author of a novel raises such eternal themes as parents and children relationships, the problem of communication between people in general and human solitude in the society. An image of the main protagonist, created by J. Salinger, contains one of the most significant and contradictory aspect of American spirit and consciousness – the individualistic rebellion. The fact of the extensive and cognitive content of the novel, written by J. Salinger, which reflects the urgent problems of the society is taken into account. The elected problem is actual in a context of the existence of a young person as an intellectual, mentally independent personality with high spiritual wealth.
