The Promised Land In Anatolia: Urfa

Abstract

In the world, All religions are considered sacred located in places of their own history and scripture. One of these religions are Judaism. Judaism is different from other religions with understanding. One of the places associated with Abraham and his seed is especially Urfa Harran. Urfa is known as ‚City of Prophets‛, ‚Jerusalem of Anatolia‛ and ‚Beliefs Realm‛. Harran has a historical place for Christians and other civilizations with Judaism. There are different opinions about Urfa whether the land had been promised. Abraham’s place of residence is also important. In the article of ‚The Promised Land In Anatolıa: Urfa‛, the promised land understanding and approachs are considered. Urfa Harran is both sacred ground and it is not. But this understaning is ideolojogical and political. Also, In Urfa, Sabians and Christiants lived.
