THE RELATION OF COMMUNICATIONAL SKILLS AND QUALITY OF TREATMENT SERVICES (CASE STUDY: SHIRAZ CITY HOSPITALS, 2016)

Abstract

The skill of communicating with the patient causes success in obtaining enough information from him, correct diagnosis, attracting the patient trust and finally his successful treatment. The aim of performing this study is to examine the relation of effective communicational skills and treatment services quality (case study: Shiraz city hospitals, 2016). In respect of nature and objectives, this study is of applied type and for its implementation correlation method has been used. The research statistical population includes all personnel working in Shiraz hospitals in 2016-2017. In this study, simple random sampling method was used for sampling. The number of samples was selected 195 persons. For collecting data, 2 questionnaires of Jeraback communicational skills (2004) and Asadi et.al questionnaire of treatment services quality (2012) has been utilized whose reliability and validity have been confirmed. Data analysis was performed by SPSS software and using descriptive and inferential statistics. In the level of descriptive statistics, statistics such as frequency, percent, mean and standard deviation were used and in the inferential statistics level, correlation coefficient has been used. Findings showed that there is a positive and significant relation between communicational skills such as listening, the ability of receiving and sending message, insight towards communication process, emotional control and relation joint with decisiveness and treatment services quality of personnel of Shiraz city hospitals as 41, 49, 60, 44 and 74 respectively. The results show that the more is effective communicational skills, the more is personnel treatment services quality rate. It is suggested that accurate training of personnel with the aim of increasing improve and reinforcement of communicational skills is places at the top of programs of centers of providing medical and Geriatrics services.
