THE RESEARCH METHODS OF EVOLUTION OF THE ALPHABET SIGNS IN THE MIDDLE-FRENCH LANGUAGE

Abstract
In the article are reflected the main methods of studying the evolution of the letters of the Middle French language in the XIV– XV centuries, the analysis of linguistic, general scientific and philosophical methods is carried out, the specific features of the development and functioning of the graphic sign of the French language and its changes in phonographic and ideographic aspects are investigated. One of the key tasks of general linguistics is the problem of methodology, that is the methods of studying the language. It is well-known that any branch of human knowledge should have along with the object and subject of study, reliable research methods. Linguistics during the history of its development has created its own (special) methods. As a rule, the change of the scientific paradigm is accompanied by the discovery of a new method of research. Each method highlights the aspect of the language as the object of research, which is determined by the most important in this theory of language. The article presents the methodological classification and characteristics of methods that are divided into general scientific (observation, induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, comparison, gen- eralization) and linguistic or as they are also called special (descriptive, hypothetical-deductive, comparative-historical, sampling method, grapheme, graphonical, component analysis). The purpose of the article lies in methodologically study of the process of phonographic and ideographic changes, the peculiarities of the development of the system of alphabet sings of the French language in the Middle French period of the XIV – XV centuries, perform a functional analysis of the graphic signs of the Middle French alphabet as symbols using a complex and diverse description. The achievement of this goal involves solving the following tasks: to distinguish the main methodological principles of studying the peculiarities of the development of the system of literal units of French graphics and spelling, to analyze the changes of the letter marks in the process of evolution of the language in the phonographic and ideographic aspects. The object of research is the letter marks of the Middle French language, and the subject is the methods of studying the evolution of the letters of the French letter of the XIV – XV centuries in the phonographic and ideographic systems.
