THE RESISTANCE OXIDATION OF THE COMPOSITE OILS AFTER TRIBOLOGICAL TEST

Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2011, Vol 239, Issue 5

Abstract

The experimentally determined oxidation stability of the compositions based on vegetable oils are presented. Analysed oxidation onset temperature was obtained from the Different Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) curves, which provide the rapid prediction of the oxidative stability of lubricants. Several oils have been tested using a ball-disk testing machine. The tribological tests were done at the temperatures of 20oC, 60oC and 120oC. The influence of the temperature of tribological tests on the change of the resistance oxidation of oil compositions is introduced in the article. The profitable influence of applied inhibitors was affirmed on the stability of the propriety of studied oil compositions after the tribological test.
