The role of symbolic policy in the formation of a local identity

Abstract
This article examines the problem of the formation of local identity in the modern political process. The symbolic policies are analyzed as one of the mechanisms of forming a local identity. Particular attention is paid to the role of political myths and symbols and rituals.
