The role of violence in the process social development in Marxist political theory

Abstract
The significance of violence in social-political process from the perspective of Marxist political theory was analyzed. The dual function of political violence as a means of domination and instrument of social transformation was considered. Similarities and differences between Marxist theory and the theory of violence when it comes to understanding of state-building function of political violence were determined. The significance of Marxist legacy in the context of the study of functioning mechanisms of society based on deep rooted political-economical contradictions was revealed.
